I'm still in the area, just up the road in Mitchellville in an old farmhouse. Been here since 1990. I've been married since 1980 and have two kids. Our son's a Senior and our daughter's a Freshman in High School. My mother is still in Bowie and my kids have friends there, so I get out there a lot. I Graduated from UM with a degree in Management and a minor in Computer Science. Currently work for one of the local beltway bandit firms in Arlington doing whatever lands on my desk (Support services, Software Engineering, Training.... a little of everything.) I spent four years in the Navy in the late 70s, mostly in the western Pacific and the Caribbean. I still like to camp and fish, but the opportunities seem to get less and less. I'd like to hear from anyone and everyone. |

Elizabeth (Carla) Knapp |
Call me Elizabeth now! I've been through many lifetimes since graduation. All good! Too creative, restless, & curious to stay still for too long. Writing feature articles on a freelance basis for the Roanoke Times newspaper now -- among other things! Have been curious about whatever happened to Eddie Belinski. Anyone know where he is? Eddie, because of you I treated myself on my 40th to my cheerful, fun '75 VW Bug, had it restored & named it Scooter. Her license plate reads "yipeee". Married to Dan Thorp (class of '72) since 1976! No children. Dan is a tenured associate professor of American history (surprise!) at Virginia Tech where he has been teaching since 1986. Life is good! Like to be updated on reunions. Haven't managed to make one yet! |
Married a Tennessee gal (Holly) back in 1982. We have three wonderful kids: Michael (11); Katie (10); and Joseph (7). We're living in Vienna, Virginia. I've been working at The National Rifle Association as Executive Director of Membership for almost 10 years. My parents and one of my brothers still live in Bowie. I still enjoy hunting, fishing, biking, woodworking and just about anything to do with the Civil War, particulary working as a volunteer with the National Park Service doing living history events. I've pretty much lost touch with the Class of 1972, and have not been able to make any of the reunions, but I'm determined to be at the next one! |
Bob Mason |
Starting my 5th year as a dispatcher for Prince Georges County, the last 3 with the Fire Department. This is after spending 20 years in the U.S. Army as a member of the Army Field Band. I am looking forward to hearing from others in our class on the Internet. |
Barbara Meadows Olchak |
Married to Larry Olchak (Class of '73). |

(actually
graduated in Aug. 1972) I have a Master's degree from Hood College.

Elise Schmelz Adomanis |
Elise Schmelz Adomanis married Ted Adomanis (BHS-'71) in 1977 and currently resides in Waldorf, MD. After a short career as a flight attendant for American Airlines, Elise cashed in her flight benefits to become a full-time wife and mom to sons Seth and Kyle. Seth now attends a community college while serving as a reservist in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is working towards an ROTC scholarship and hopes to enter flight school after graduation. Kyle is a senior at the Grace Brethren Christian School dividing his senior year studies at Word of Life Bible Institute Language School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He will return in March for graduation in May 2000. After a part-time job at home with Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a claims examiner, Elise later formed and operated her own temp business for ten years. She now focuses all her energies on her faith, her family and the administration of Total Mobilization Support Ministries, a short-term international missions organization now in it's 5th year. To learn more, check out their website at http://berean.org/tmsm. Elise and Ted have also been approved as missionaries by Grace Brethren North American Missions and hope to relocate to Canada following Ted's early retirement next year. |
